Garadia Mahadev Temple Kota is in Daulatganj area of Kota district in Rajasthan. Famous for its scenic views this spot is well known as a place where river Chambal takes a U turn and gives a scintillating view. This huge canyon has greenery covered on both the sides of the river.
There is also a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and a Gaumukh near the temple that has water flowing through it naturally throughout the year. In summers generally people use this water for holy baths.
The place is quite dangerous and should be explored with utmost care. One must not lean towards the river for getting better views, photos and selfies. Just sit and enjoy the beauty.
The place increased its recognition after getting featured in various ad films, music videos and much more. This is the key tourism spot that is shown in Rajasthan Tourism advertisements with a tagline “Jane kab kya dikh jaye”. The famous song Mann Bharya by B Praak was also shot here.
Garadia Mahadev Temple Kota also got the award for Best Iconic Landscape Destination on November 12, 2021 at India Today Tourism Awards. The award was received by Nishant Jain and was presented by Union Tourism and Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy.
You can also witness small variety of fauna there including monkeys, peacocks, goyras (bis-cobra lizard) and mongoose. The place falls under the Mukundra Tiger Reserve and is maintained by the forest department of Rajasthan.
There are no arrangements for eatables and drinking water there, so carry these necessary items with you as it takes about 2 to 3 hours to completely explore the place including the transit time from Kota.

How to Reach Garadia Mahadev Kota?
Nearest Airport to Garadia Mahadev is Jaipur International Airport at Sanganer which is about 240 kms from Kota. While the Nearest Railway Station is Kota Junction which is about 30 kms far.
From Kota, the best way to reach there is through private vehicles like motorbikes or cars as there is off roading of about 3 kilometers from the main highway NH 27 Baran Road.
You can also hire private auto rickshaws from Kota to visit this place.
Best Time to Visit Garadia Mahadev Kota?
The best time of the day is to visit there during early mornings or early evenings as during daytime sunlight may make your itinerary somewhat exhausting. Also, one must visit there during the monsoon season as the views get enhanced by the blossomed greenery of flora around the river.
AVOID GOING THERE DURING THE SUNSET TIME AS THE OFF ROADING TRACK IS DANGEROUS TO TRAVEL AT ODD HOURS DUE TO ABSENCE OF ANY LIGHT SOURCES.

The timings are generally from 7-8 am in morning to 5 pm in evening or broadly it is open from sunrise to sunset on all the days of a week.
