Shree Kanchan Dham in Bundi District is famous for having 12 small temples or abodes of 12 Jyotirlings of Lord Shiva in India, at a single place. These have utmost importance in Hindu mythology and religion.

Each small porch has one stone Shivling of Lord Shiva dedicated to a Jyotirling. These are made of different variety of stones with different colors and textures.

These 12 Jyotirlings are- Somnath, Nageshwar, Bhimashankar, Trimbakeshwar, Grishneshwar, Vaidyanath, Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Kashi Vishwanath, Kedarnath, Rameshwaram, Mallikarjuna.

The temple premises is spread over a large area and need about an hour to completely explore the place. There are idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati at the center of the temple campus with fountains and greenery spread around it.  

Information on Shree Kanchan Dham Bundi-

The temple has been constructed by Shree Kanchan Das Ji Maharaj as an Ashram and a small Samadhi dedicated to him is also present inside the temple premises.

The temple has a huge entrance gate with two grand white elephant statues on both the sides. Each porch is made of red stone and has one Shivling inside it.

All the 12 porches are arranged in a circular manner that add beauty to this place. Picnics and parties are generally not allowed there but you can have small family gatherings.

Timings and Entry Fee-

There are no such strict timings for the opening and closing of the temple but for a safer side you should visit during day time i.e., from 8 am in morning to 6 pm in the evening.

There is no entry fee charged for visiting the temple. Enough parking space is available outside the temple. Washrooms are not available there in nearby areas and not in the temple premises too.

How to Reach Shree Kanchan Dham Bundi?

Kanchan Dham is located in Bundi District of Rajasthan and is accessible through roads. It can be reached using Bundi-Lakheri Road or by taking a right turn from Khatkar if you come from Keshorai Patan. Or you can have a left turn from Gendoli if you come from Kapren. It is about 13 km from Khatkar, about 35 km from Bundi, 40 km from Keshoraipatan and about 55 km from Kota.

The nearest Railway Station is Kota Junction at about 53 km, while the nearest Bus Stand is Bundi bus stand at about 33 km distance.

It is advisable to visit there using private vehicles as no such public transports are functional there. You may sometimes get Rajasthan Tourism Buses but not surely.

Best Time to Visit Shree Kanchan Dham Bundi-

The best time to visit there is during days with little drizzling in the monsoon season or during the winter season. The view of clouds surrounding the nearby hills is really soothing with an addon of cool breeze in winters and in monsoons.

It becomes somewhat exhausting during summers as there is no such space to have a stay under a shed. Apart from this you can visit there any time as no fix time is needed for praying to Lord Shiva, only a will is what needed.
