Khade Ganesh Ji temple is one of the oldest and the most prominent temples in Kota city and is visited by a huge number of visitors on a daily basis. The temple consists of a standing idol of Lord Ganesh Ji which is expected to be more than 600 years old and has an elegant significance in the lives of devotees. People visiting Kota makes it a point to have prayers at this splendid temple and gain some blessings for their good life ahead.
Information on Khade Ganesh Ji Temple-
The main sanctum houses the idol of Lord Ganesh Ji in a standing position and has a tower-like building called Shikhar over it, that has been recently added while the development of the temple.
There are two main specialties of this temple that makes it unique. Firstly, the Idol of Lord Ganesh is having the trunk in a straight position unlike other temples of the country where it is curved towards either left or right.
Second, the Idol of Lord Ganesh is in the standing posture. The idol of Lord Ganesha is mostly worshiped in sitting or lying postures in other temples of the nation.
The Idol here is believed to be around 600 years old which makes its significance much high in the lives of devotees. Recently, it has been shifted to a new sanctum during the reconstruction of the temple premises.

A grand fair is organized here on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and Lord Ganesha is welcomed to the temple with full celebrations and decorations. A huge number of people visit the temple on this festival to seek the blessings of their deity.
A small lake is also present near the temple which gives a majestic view during the monsoons when it gets filled up to the brim. Peacocks and other species of birds can also be spotted near the lake.
There are other temples too within the Khade Ganesh Ji Temple complex, of which one is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A small square-shaped pond is present near the temple of Lord Shiva.
The pathway to the main temple is covered with fountains and greenery all around that gives you a soothing effect if you visit there during morning times.

Mini-buses are a good choice to reach the temple from various parts of the city. Else, you can opt for public transport vehicles like auto-rickshaws, tempos, and city buses.
The nearest railway station to Khade Ganesh Ji Temple is Kota Junction at a distance of about 17 km and can be reached through direct city buses between these two spots.
New Bus Stand at Dhanmandi is the nearest bus stand to the Khade Ganesh Ji Temple, about 10 km apart, and can be accessed within half an hour.
Jaipur International Airport is the nearest airport to Kota at a distance of about 240 km from Kota.
Timings of Khade Ganesh Ji Temple-
The temple remains open throughout the day, from early morning 4-5 am to midnight. The timings of the grand Arti at night is around 10 pm and it takes around 20 minutes to complete.
Entry Fee-
No Entry Fee is charged to the devotees visiting the Khade Ganesh Ji Temple. You just need faith and devotion in God to make a visit to this pious place.
Best Time to Visit Khade Ganesh Ji Temple-
Although every time and every day is the best time for having a visit to a godly place like this, one should try to make a visit in the morning times. Also, if you have no problem with the crowds there, then you can go there on Wednesdays, the day dedicated to Lord Ganesha, according to Hindu Mythology.
Travel Tip-
The parking facility is available outside the main gate of the temple, so don’t hesitate to plan a visit with your own vehicles like cars and motorbikes.
The estimated time required to visit the temple is around 1 hour. It may take you about 1 hour extra if you visit the adjacent Ganesh Udhyan Park.
Use dustbins to dispose-off the plastic polybags and other stuff and do not destroy the serenity of the temple by littering it.
