Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is one of the oldest and the most famous shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva in the city of Kota in Rajasthan. The temple is located near the shores of River Chambal and is visited by a huge number of people daily. The location of the temple is in the Retwali area of Old Kota.
Information on Neelkanth Mahadev-
The main sanctum houses the shivling form of Lord Shiva in a Swayambhu form or the self-evolved form, which is said to be very ancient and spiritual.
Special offerings and decorations are done in the month of Sawan and on other festivals like Mahashivratri.
It is believed that Lord Shiva fulfills all your wishes if you pray with a pure heart to him.
Special puja or “abhishek” can also be organized by you through the help of priests of the temple.
Around 500 people visit the temple daily and offer their prayers to the almighty.
Recently, the temple became the Kota city’s first polythene free temple and the use of single-use plastics is completely banned here for the betterment of the environment.
